KIWI SEEDS – G13 X AMNESIA HAZE: DELIVERS UPLIFTING SATIVA EFFECTS IN 60-70 DAYS

Kiwi Seeds, in cooperation with coffee shop the Dampkring, chose G13 and Amnesia Haze as basis plants for this sativa dominant hybrid. This joint breeding project had the goal to combine the growing expertise of Kiwi Seeds, with the in-depth market knowledge of the Dampkring, to create something that satisfies growers and smokers alike. One of the most powerful Indicas of modern times, the legendary G13, was the perfect match for Amnesia Haze, and managed to bring down the flowering period to 60-70 days.

This strain has about 80% Sativa influences, so one can expect a hybrid that leans more towards its Haze/Sativa heritage. Growing G13 x Amnesia Haze involves a certain amount of expertise because the sativa genetics induce a good amount of stretching, up to heights of 120-150cm, indoors. It could be an option to grow this strain in a ScrOG to manage the heights but this is up to personal preferences. As mentioned, the flowering time is only 60-70 days, allowing growers to harvest beautiful Haze buds, without needing to be overly patient. Yields are more than satisfying, with up to 400-500g/m². Recreational breeders beware! Zamnesia is offering the feminized version of this strain, and not the regular.

G13 x Amnesia Haze won 2nd prize in the category Haze-Hydro at the 2008 Highlife Cup. This can be taken as a first indicator that effect and taste are suitable to sophisticated smokers with high demands. The effect is mainly a very strong uplifting high, with a lot of parallels to the classic cerebral effects of Amnesia Haze. Further explanation seems unnecessary when thinking about the remaining indica genetics, 20%, that also contribute in terms of potency and resin production. Unfortunately, a precise evaluation of flavours can only be executed by the grower personally. Kiwi Seeds and the Dampkring don’t want to influence this partially subjective process too much. The chances are pretty high that an 80% sativa-dominant hybrid of Amnesia Haze and G13 tastes like it sounds: Delicious!

According to the legend of G13, this strain was originally a joint project between scientists within agencies like the CIA and FBI. They were suspected to use the genetics they confiscated from growers around the world, to breed a highly potent strain on their own. This was way back in the 1960’s, at a top-secret laboratory at the University of Mississippi. It was here that one brave technician saw the opportunity to supply the cannabis community with G13 by stealing a few clones. One can be critical about the truthfulness of the G13 legend, but guys like Edward Snowden showed us what secret services are up to nowadays. It’s a good thing that G13 x Amnesia Haze is available for the general public, and that it was skillfully bred by Kiwi Seeds and the Dampkring, instead of secret governmental organizations.
